Create Jobs

Jobs are the volunteer positions that must be filled for each event.

After creating an event (such as Sunday Morning Worship), you will define the roles that need volunteers. These roles are called Jobs.

Examples of jobs include:

  • Greeter
  • Nursery Worker
  • Sound Booth
  • Security
  • Song Leader
  • Communion Preparation
  • Bible Class Teacher

Each job can have one or multiple volunteers assigned when a schedule is created.

Why Jobs Are Important

Jobs allow ChurchNET to automatically place volunteers into specific roles when generating a schedule.
Without jobs, the system does not know what positions need to be filled.

Job Settings

When creating a job, you can configure how the position is filled.

Number of Volunteers Needed

You can choose how many volunteers are required for the position.

Examples:

  • 2 Greeters
  • 1 Song Leader
  • 3 Nursery Workers

The scheduling system will attempt to fill all required spots when a schedule is generated.

Eligibility

You can control who is allowed to serve in the job:

  • Open to anyone — any eligible volunteer may be scheduled
  • Gender specific — limit the position to male or female volunteers

This is useful for roles such as nursery care, security teams, or teaching assignments where your church may have specific requirements.

How to Create a Job

  1. Open the Volunteer Schedule module
  2. Tap the Admin button
  3. Select Create Jobs
  4. Choose the event the job belongs to
  5. Tap Add Job
  6. Enter the job name
  7. Set the number of volunteers needed
  8. Choose the eligibility (open to anyone or gender specific)
  9. Save

You can repeat this process to add multiple jobs for the same event.

Example

Event: Sunday Morning Worship

Jobs:

  • 2 Greeters
  • 1 Song Leader
  • 1 Sound Booth Operator
  • 2 Nursery Workers (Female only)

When the schedule is generated, ChurchNET will attempt to fill each of these positions.

Important Notes

  • Jobs are tied to a specific event.
  • Each event can have different jobs.
  • You only need to create jobs once unless your ministry needs change.

What’s Next?

After jobs are created, the next step is to choose which volunteers are eligible to serve in each position.
