Mass Communication
Mass Communication sends one message to the whole congregation — a weather cancellation, a funeral announcement, a reminder that Sunday's service moved.
It is deliberately blunt: there is no audience picking here. Everything you send goes to every member. If you need to reach a smaller group, use Communication and its contact groups instead, or post in a Messaging group.
The hub
Opening the module gives you four choices:
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Text Congregation | Queue a text message to every church member |
| Email Congregation | Queue an email announcement to the congregation |
| Audio Call Congregation | Send a pre-recorded audio message to the congregation |
| History | View SMS, email, campaign, and monthly message history |
Text Congregation and Audio Call Congregation are greyed out until your church has phone service configured. Tapping either one shows:
SMS and audio calling features are not enabled for this church. Please contact ChurchNET support to activate these features.
Email works without this setup. If you need texting or voice calls, contact ChurchNET support to get your church provisioned.

- Tap Preview.
- The preview shows your subject, the message, and how many people it will reach while it calculates recipients.
- Edit to go back, or Submit to send.
You'll see Email queued for delivery. once it's accepted.
Sending a text
- Choose Text Congregation.
- Write the Text message.
- Tap Preview to see the message and the recipient count.
- Submit to queue it.
You'll see Message queued for delivery.
ChurchNET appends " - Reply STOP to opt-out" to congregation texts before they go out. The preview tells you so.
You don't need to write it yourself — but do count it. It comes out of the same character budget as your message.
Texts are charged by segment, roughly 160 characters each — long messages cost more to send than short ones. Say the essential thing and link out for the detail.
Queued, not instant
Nothing sends the moment you press Submit. Messages are queued and go out through the delivery pipeline. A large congregation takes a little time to work through, so don't resend because the first one hasn't arrived yet.
Check History to confirm what actually went out.
History
History collects SMS, email, campaign, and monthly message records in one place, so you can confirm a message was sent and see what it cost you in volume for the month.
The same history is available in the Communication module.
