Member Map Overview

The Member Map module displays all member family addresses plotted on a Google Map alongside your church location. It gives administrators a visual overview of where their congregation lives relative to the church.

Note: The Member Map is only available to users with App Admin permissions.

Enabling the Module​

If the Member Map tile is not visible on your home screen:

  1. Enter Edit Mode by tapping the pencil icon on the home screen.
  2. Long-press on an empty tile or an existing module tile.
  3. Select Member Map from the list of available modules.
  4. Tap the checkmark to save your layout.

Map Features​

When you open the Member Map, you will see markers for each family that has an address on file:

  • Blue marker — Your church location
  • Red markers — Member family addresses
  • Green marker — Your own family's address

Tap any marker to see a brief info window with the family name and address.

Refreshing Data​

If you have recently updated family addresses in the Directory and the map is not reflecting those changes, use the Refresh button (located in the app bar) to clear the cached data and reload all addresses.

Use this when:

  • A family's address was recently added or changed
  • New families have been added to the Directory
  • Markers appear to be missing or outdated

How Addresses Are Found​

The Member Map pulls addresses from your family records in the Directory. For each family, it looks for an address in the following order:

  1. The family-level address (if one is set)
  2. The address of an adult member in the family (as a fallback)

Families without any address on file will not appear on the map.

Geocoding & Caching​

The first time you open the Member Map, each family address is geocoded (converted from a street address to map coordinates). This initial load may take a moment depending on the number of families.

After the first load, coordinates are cached so subsequent visits load much faster. If addresses change, use the Refresh button to re-geocode updated addresses.

Tapping a marker's info window will navigate you directly to that family's profile in the Directory module. This makes it easy to review or update a family's details without leaving the map view.
