Polls
A poll answers the questions that otherwise turn into forty unread replies: who's bringing what, which night works, what color shirt.
Creating a poll
- In a group conversation, tap + beside the message box.
- Choose New poll.
- Type your question.
- Fill in the Choices. Two are offered to begin with — tap Add more for additional options.
- Adjust the settings below, then post it.
Poll settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Ends | Sets a closing date and time. After it passes the poll shows Poll ended and stops accepting votes. |
| Multiple answers | Lets each person choose more than one option. Leave it off for either/or questions. |
| Public poll | Makes each person's vote visible to the group. Leave it off to keep individual votes private. |
Reading the results
Results appear in the conversation and update as people vote. Each choice shows its share of the vote as a bar, with the raw count underneath — 1 vote, 0 votes.
When a poll is public, a View voters link shows who picked what. On a private poll only the totals are visible.
Once a poll has ended the card stays in the conversation as a record of the outcome.
