Creating Events
Administrators create events from the + button on the Events screen.
The details
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Event Name | What members see in the list |
| Description | The full explanation — what it is, what to bring, who it's for |
| Start time | Date and time it begins |
| End time | Date and time it finishes |
| Timezone | Set this if your church spans zones or the event is out of state |
| Location name | A recognizable name, like Fellowship Hall or Camp Ozark |
| Location address | The street address, so members can navigate to it |
The switches
These decide how registration behaves. They matter more than the fields above, and they're easy to skip past.
| Switch | What turning it on does |
|---|---|
| Public event | Makes the event visible beyond the signed-in membership |
| Allow family registration | Lets one person register their whole family at once, rather than each member signing up separately |
| Allow guest registration | Lets people who aren't in your directory register — necessary for anything you're inviting the community to |
| Send email on registration | Emails a confirmation when someone registers |
| Send SMS on registration | Texts a confirmation when someone registers |
Think about guests before you publish
Allow guest registration is the switch churches most often wish they'd turned on. If you're inviting the community, a visitor with no account can't sign up without it.
You'll see Event created. once it saves.
After creating
Once the event exists you can add Registration Questions to it — see Registration.
