Inbox

The Inbox tab shows your SMS conversations with individual members. You can view message threads, read incoming replies, and respond directly from within ChurchNET.


Conversation List

When you open the Inbox, you see a list of conversations. Each entry shows:

  • Member avatar and name (or phone number if the contact is unrecognized)
  • A preview of the most recent message
  • The timestamp of the last message

Conversations are sorted with the most recent activity at the top.


Viewing a Conversation

Tap a conversation to open the full message thread. Messages are displayed in chronological order, showing both:

  • Inbound messages — SMS replies sent by the member to your church number
  • Outbound messages — Messages you have sent, including campaign messages

Outbound campaign messages display the audience they were sent to and a channel icon to distinguish them from individual replies.


Replying to a Conversation

To reply to a member:

  1. Open the conversation thread.
  2. Type your response in the message field at the bottom.
  3. Tap Send.

Your reply is sent as an individual SMS to that member's phone number.


How Inbound Messages Appear

When a member sends an SMS to your church's phone number, the system matches the sender's phone number to a member in your directory. The message appears in the Inbox under that member's conversation.

If the phone number does not match any member on file, the conversation will display the phone number instead of a name.
